Global Positioning System (GPS) is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) developed by United States Department of Defense. In multicopters this system is used for enabling the copters to autonomously perform tasks. Most multicopter platforms supporting GPS are able to at least autonomously hold their position without user interaction. Some platforms are also able to follow preprogrammed GPS tracks, or fly to remotely delivered GPS coordinates.
